About[]
Arthur Pendragon, more commonly known as Wart, is one of the co-protagonists of the 1963 Disney animated feature The Sword in the Stone. Son of Uther Pendragon and destined to be the legendary King Arthur of British history and folklore, Wart is a 12-year old orphan living with the knight Sir Ector and his older son, Kay as a servant and slave within their countryside palace with his only hope to work to become his adopted brother's squire. Knowing of his eventual destiny, the wizard Merlin takes him under his wing in order to teach him through unconventional method the importance of knowledge over the brutality and violence of his era, leading Wart to many adventures and discoveries prior to finally reaching his destiny: to pull the Sword in the Stone in London to reclaim his birthright as England's king.
