Ratatouille is a 2007 American computer-animated comedy film presented by Walt Disney Pictures, produced by Pixar Animation Studios, and distributed by the last original film with the Buena Vista Pictures, which Cars was the last film for the Pixar 1991-2005 Vista era. It tells the story of Remy (voiced by Patton Oswalt), a rat living in Paris who wants to be a chef. The film was the eighth movie produced by Pixar, and was written and directed by Brad Bird, who took over from Jan Pinkava in 2005, and it was released on June 29, 2007, in the United States and on October 12, 2007, in the United Kingdom, to both widespread critical acclaim and box office success.
