Avatar is a collection released with the Avatar Update on 9th December 2025.
It is the sixty-second (62nd) collection created by an Update and the forty-fifth (45th) collection created by a Limited-Time Event.
About[]
Avatar, created by James Cameron and his production company, Lightstorm Entertainment, was first released in theaters in 2009 under 20th Century Fox. In 2019, Disney acquired 20th Century Fox and became the distributor of the Avatar franchise, including theatrical releases and Disney+ streaming. Disney also won the rights to feature the IP through theme park attractions, in which "Pandora - The World of Avatar" was opened at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom theme park. In 2022, the franchise's sequel film, Avatar: The Way of Water, was released, with the third film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, following suit in 2025. Fourth and fifth installations of the Avatar franchise are slated for release in the late 2020s/early 2030s.
The story of Avatar takes place on Pandora and revolves around the Na'vi people and their fight against the Resource Development Administration (RDA), an Earth organization with the mission of harvesting resources on Pandora for the benefit of Earth's human population.
